A note from the founder
“How do you play the game?”
My father asked me that question my whole life. This marketplace is part of my answer.
In 1992 I was supposed to graduate from high school, and I didn’t. My mother was a Registered Nurse and my father was a Navy officer, and all those credentials couldn’t carry me across that finish line. I felt like a failure.
Then a college called and invited me to attend. I told the truth — no diploma. He said, “It doesn’t matter. Just come.” The next day I walked into a testing site with a faith I call My Know, finished the GED in three hours, and passed. On Mother’s Day 1995, I walked across a college stage, and my dad was there wiping his eyes.
Life went on. I became a stay-at-home wife and mom — kids’ school runs, ball practices, my husband coaching the teams. But the seed was rattling. In 2014 we started our first business. In 2015, our second. In 2019, we did $1.2 million. In 2020, $1.8 million — and on from there.
So what took us from six figures to seven? Marketing. Same gift, same grit. The difference was being seen.
Entrepreneurs, know this: you can have the best product ever, but if no one knows about it, it stays in potential instead of fruition. When you are turning your Passion into a Profit, it takes follow-through and visibility. My motto is: I don’t claim to be the cheapest. I claim to be the best.
