Home Plate

What Planet Are You From?

Before you meet the material, you meet yourself. You don’t learn from “a fifth grader” – you learn from who you already are. Four planets, four kinds of genius. We’re all earthlings; the question is where your genius truly comes from.

Saturn

the Builder

Rule first, then the example. Structure you can climb, step by step.

Venus

the Connector

Learns out loud, in a group. Meaning arrives through connection.

Mars

the Essentialist

Strips it to the core. Sees the whole pattern at once, then moves.

Mercury

the Maker

Has to build it and touch it. Trusts what its own hands can prove.

Alignment first, instruction second. When the way you’re taught matches the way you’re built, the learning was always going to happen.

The Method

Home to First

Teaching is your coach, speaking your language. Learning is the moment you got it once—real, but a single hit doesn’t win a game. To leave the box, you have to turn learning into studying.

Learning to study—the three stakes

The Where

A space that means study. Same corner, every time – so sitting down tells your mind “we work now.”

The When

A protected block, outside any classroom. On an online program, the outside-time is the whole game.

The How

Close the book. Hand yourself the same problem with the numbers changed. Reach the exit? You studied.

The Honest Test

If you can’t do it again, you learned it – you haven’t studied it yet. Now you know exactly where you stand.

Studying a rep is only real if it changes

In Math

Change the numbers and reach the exit anyway. Same road, new problem.

In Reading & Language

Change the question under the words. Drill one trigger—the “not,” the main idea, the inference—to muscle memory, ten at a time, before you ever mix them.

If you don’t know why you’re missing it, you don’t know how to pass. The first rep of real studying is finding your own blind spot.

The Read

Speed Rounds the Bases. The Read Wins the Game.

The best center fielder isn’t the fastest – he’s the one who hears the ball off the bat and already knows where it’s going. Natural talent gets you to the ball. Sharpened skill decides what you do with it. You’re not here to swing for the fences and hope. You’re here to learn your game.

A Word of Truth

Don’t Steal Home

Courage is beautiful. It is not a substitute for a base. Plenty of initiates try to steal home – straight to the official test on nerve alone—and get thrown out at the plate. And a practice score can lie: you might land a 73 when you only knew 65, and that luck won’t show up on test day.

This page exists so you can be honest with yourself about exactly where you stand. Round the bases. Earn home. Then it’s yours for good.
